Municipality description
Municipality Godów is situated in the southern-west part of Silesia province in the district of wodzisław, which is also the most forward south municipality area. It borders from the west with municipality Gorzyce, from the nord it neighbors with Wodzisław Śląski city and municipality Mszana, from the east with Jastrzębie Zdrój city, while all long though the soutern border rund s boundary between Czech Republic and Poland. The municipality consist of seven villages” Godów, Gołkowice, Krostoszowice, Łaziska, Podbucze, Skrbeńsko, Skrzyszów, covering the surface of 38,08 km2 and inhabited nearly by 13 thousand residents.
Municipality Godów has an advantageous strategic due to the proximity of Czech Republic, to cities such as: Rybnik, Wodzisław Śląski and Jastrzębie Zdrój, as well as the fact of a passing by A1 highway junction in Łaziska.
The municipality is fully water-piped and gasificated, a well developed tele-technical network and a sanitary sawege system.

is a multi-cultural join of; Czech, Polish, German and Silesian, which has a major impact on the people living here, which are trying to build a local cultural identity. The bordering householders absord everything that the homeland offers them. Perhaps, the variety of influence and different kinds of historical turmoil caused that, as well the place its self as the people living here are special.
